Frequently asked questions
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE FOR FAMILY SESSIONS?
I typically use natural light at outdoor sessions so that I can move around freely. I will get the posed family portrait but I also focus on those moments that are genuine and capture connection, joy and laughter. The longer the session, the more variety captured. So, if you really like candid I would go with a 30 minute or standard session. My editing style is classic and timeless.
How many images will be in my online proofing gallery?
Many variables impact the number of images that are shown in your online proofing gallery therefore I do not guarantee the number of images in your gallery but here are some averages based on session type:
Standard session- 30-50
30 minute session- 15-30
Extended family- The number of images will vary drastically between sessions since these are customized to the family. The number of images are typically less for these sessions since it takes longer to set up an image with larger groups and are mostly traditionally posed portrait sessions.
Mini Session- 10-15 images. Mini sessions are limited to ONE area at the designated location and will not have the variety a standard session provides. If your children and/or pets take a while to warm up, please consider a 30 minute or standard session.
Lifestyle/A day in the life session- 40-50 images per hour of shooting
Senior Session- 35-40 images per hour of shooting is average but can vary depending on number of locations and outfit changes.
WHAT TIME OF DAY IS BEST FOR MY SESSION?
Outdoor sessions are typically about one-two hours prior to sunset known as the golden hour. There are some situations and locations when I might recommend sunrise. This might not always be convenient to nap or bedtime schedules but generally we are able to still get great shots! Keep in mind that summer months have a later sunset and in the late fall much earlier. In home lifestyle sessions are scheduled mid day.
How long does it take to receive the final photos?
Images will be delivered to you within a week of your session and can extend to two weeks during the busy fall months (September-November). If you need your session rushed for any reason, just let me know!
