JENNA & AARON | MILDALE FARM WEDDING

JENNA & AARON | MILDALE FARM WEDDING

I have known the groom, Aaron since he was a teenager.  Aaron’s sister (Abbey)  is married to my brother so we have spent time together over the years.  I was jumping up and down like a little girl on the inside when they asked me to photograph their wedding.  When I found out they chose Mildale Farm as the venue space I was even more excited because this place is amazing as you will see!    Photographing weddings is a big deal… people trust you to capture one of the most important days of their life.  The pressure is intense; making sure you have the best light, location and anticipating the next move.  You pray your equipment doesn’t fail and your timeline is solid.  Now, add in the pressure of your sister in law’s brother getting married…well, it’s some serious stress!  I just took some deep breaths and walked in confident and ready to capture the love between two people.

September 26th was an unusually warm fall day but the sun was shining down on the manicured grounds of Mildale Farm.  It was finally time for two people in love to get married surrounded by their friends and family.  I already know and love Aaron’s family but enjoyed getting to know Jenna’s.  Her parents (Janet & Jack) are absolutely darling and have more energy than most 20 year olds I know.  One of my favorite parts of any wedding day is the first look between a dad and his daughter.  It always makes me shed some tears and this day was no exception.

When Aaron saw Jenna for the first time he looked at her like she was the most beautiful women in the world and was so proud to be marrying her.  I never get tired of first looks because it’s a time for the couple to truly take in and enjoy the moment before they walk down the aisle.

Aaron’s sister (Abbey) walked him down the aisle because their mother (Becky) passed away a few years ago.  This part of the day was emotionally challenging for me because Becky was such an important part of their lives and my heart broke that she wasn’t able to see her son get married.  Jenna wore a ring of Becky’s in her honor. My niece, Rebecca, was the flower girl and she didn’t quite make it down the aisle so Aaron had to come in and help!  She still looked so cute crying down the aisle.

After the ceremony we took Aaron and Jenna around the farm to capitalize on the amazing sunset.  I love when this part of day happens during the golden hour because it creates such gorgeous images.

I want to thank Aaron, Jenna and the entire Lampe and Rader families for welcoming and trusting me to capture such an important day.  It was a privilege to document this love story and I hope you cherish the images for years and years to come.  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Lampe!  xoxo

Get to know me!

I have always been more interested in capturing everyday moments and genuine emotions of people and this is reflected in how I photograph my clients. I will always prefer laughter instead of a cheesy smile. I will always prefer to leave the disney band-aid on the scabbed knee instead of photoshopping it out. I will always prefer the image of you gazing at your dog as he wags his tail and kisses your face despite how 'fat' you feel. Time goes REALLY fast so choose to live in the moment and I would love to capture it for you!
