Lifestyle sessions are my absolute favorite style of photographing young children. It allows me to capture natural and real emotions as they happen in real life. Whether it’s the laughter while tackling dad, the entertainment of cracking open an egg while baking a cake with mom, the excitement in their eyes when they get to sit and watch dad grill dinner, the tiny fingers clasping a cup of milk, tiny feet hanging from a chair, or playing with glow sticks at bath time… that it the happiness and joy that parents want to bottle and hold on to. Time passes….and these sessions truly capture the essence of a family. You can look back year after year and remember their little personalities and how you spent an ‘ordinary’ day. While I appreciate a classic family portrait, I truly feel that capturing the day to day moments are what I want to remember. What were my kids favorite toys, what activities did they enjoy, what did dinner time look like….. Let me introduce you to A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE HENDERSON FAMILY. This couple has cute twin toddler boys and an adorable dog who keeps them on their toes. It was such a joy documenting this family spending an afternoon together playing, baking/cooking and sharing lots of laughs together. Life on a daily basis isn’t always pretty or perfect but the essence of this family is love. I hope you cherish these images years from now and when you look back through the album you feel the emotions of this day over and over again.
